Welthungerhilfe in 2014, we know the transformative power of ideas and what it takes to bring them to life. Over the years we have also developed a strong reputation for strengthening and deepening local participative social innovation processes and championing the role of the third sector in radical system transformation discourses.
We champion and advocate for a just and equal world, and spend all our time harnessing the superpower abilities of social pioneers, innovators and civil society leaders to fast track radical system transformation. Being a fast growing social start-up ourselves initiated by

I like that the initiative is with the people (bottom up approach) and not with the government. It would be interesting to combine this approach with the land right concept in Liberia :-)
Afghan women face challenges on many fronts, they don’t often discuss them outside their home or group of close friends. This has been a major concern since ages, even after international community‘s presence in Afghanistan since 2001, the issue has remained intact. This concept will give voice to women, enable them to speak up for their rights, seek advice from influential women in the country and face the challenges themselves. Worth investing in the idea.
A really useful concept for women's right to choose
This is really useful concept. We all know that how deprived and marginalized women are in our country. The concept will contribute in advocacy for women to include them to take important decisions.
A really great concept to empower women to become more active in the society and be highly engaged in decision making processes.
This is very great idea for Afghan women and it is best way for women groups to solve the problems.
Hmmm...what is the ideas behind? Design thinking workshops at community level to solve local challenges? Sounds very ambitious. But thinking of Afghan context I asking myself if this is the best methodology. But give it a try and adapt it to the context. But may be also look into more specific into the objection of the Afghan communities (village elders, women groups) to full-fill their needs so far.
Inspiring idea to use methodologies like design thinking in comunity work! Do ypu think you could use the whole process or select some tools? Sure some cultural adaptations are needed to be made to make it work, but wothwhile to think further!
This idea, although not entirely fleshed out has immense merit and potential. Still at the core of most humanitarian and development work is the prevalent notion of a helpless incapable beneficiary who desperately needs help from the first world to solve his or her comunities problems. Ideas that promote collaborative problem solving, piloting and prototyping led by communities and being itself the end goal are scarce in my opinion. Such interventions may break the dependency syndrome and catalyst bottom up innovative solutions and community mavericks.. The benefits of applying design thinking as a innovative methodology to solving complex social problems hardly needs any further justification. There question is what if beneficiaries applied it to solve their own social problems? Best of luck David
Am not sure I get the idea here. What are the women designing? Nice idea to engage Afghan women in a creative platform. Which women and how will they be accessed? Security measures? What is the outcome of the designing? Is it income generating?
