Welthungerhilfe in 2014, we know the transformative power of ideas and what it takes to bring them to life. Over the years we have also developed a strong reputation for strengthening and deepening local participative social innovation processes and championing the role of the third sector in radical system transformation discourses.
We champion and advocate for a just and equal world, and spend all our time harnessing the superpower abilities of social pioneers, innovators and civil society leaders to fast track radical system transformation. Being a fast growing social start-up ourselves initiated by
Peer to power is a reversal approach from the topdown imposed approach. It engages participation and will be sustainable in its form with its evolving nature.
This is one of the best concepts seriously taking behavioral change and awareness about nutrition into consideration. like it.
What a brilliant idea!I do realy like the Behaviour change and empowering women which is very important in such context like AFG. Great team initiativ.
Nice idea to work and it will have a sustainable impact on community. The whole program is dependent on coaches and coaching process, so my question is How you will ensure the quality of coaches and their selection criteria in the begining ? What would be their motivation to come forward ?
The concept of improving nutrition is match in many poor countries.
Awareness raising and Advocacy are essential to improve nutrition. Engaging the media should be highly considered as it can play central role for countrywide advocacy work.
Great work team!!! I really like the idea of empowerment and behavior change. In the ideation process, we need to push ourselves further to address the "hunger aspect of these potential women". The question is: what comes first? If I am hungry; am I concern about my own empowerment or awareness? Do I need to free my mind from hunger and place myself in a better condition to address the holistic aspect of my life? Please, I would encourage you to challenge your own assumption that you know what comes first. Push the ideation beyond what you know and it might give you many more ideas to prototype. These malnourished women might most likely empower us in return to address better the hunger issues in the world. Let me play a dissenting voice in the team by assuming these women know they are malnourished but they are often placed in positions to make hard choices. I speak from my experience in India, South Sudan, Haiti, CAR, PNG, and Liberia. Why can they break the cycle, if they know? In that case, can empowerment (which needs to be unpacked) and behavior change the only solutions? Keep pushing and thank you for your great work.
Great Concept!
This is probably the concept we needed all this time, practical and realistic way to empower women to strive towards their own welfare. The best part is it starts from home, stretches to community and ultimately leads to advocacy at government level.
Brilliant idea indeed! in couple of few years there would be couple of new generation village level nutrition counselors.
The concept has great potential and can create higher self-awareness and empowerment. Also I like the behavior change components, especially the link to positive deviants.
Community taking charge as coach and then developing chain , the idea bring chill as a movement, great
Fantastic tagline and very much needed concept. For me the concept is based on the hypothesis of behaviour-change, using methodologies of "Community Leadership". May be the entire segment "previous beneficiaries become coaches in the next round" requires special attention: to work out the the innovational aspect.
Hey I am the phycology student in Sweden, I would like to part of such vibrant idea, can you share how I can be
This is right track to eradicate poverty, like it
The concept is generating a very positive resonace with me, good approach, very related to the challenge how to empower women and to reduce hunger, behavior change in the center, integrative, like the title. My question is: this is an people centered approach, we would reach at the beginning relativly few women, but what could we do to reach more women and generate more impact on a broader base?
Peer for power good name and concept is appealing. Connect me at John Maxwell
Can see the clarity in idea , you can add credibility points as well
The very much idea to create support from all around and creating chain of support is what is exciting here. Citizen responsibility , good idea
I like the concept of change of behaviour , which is need of hour, once that is done the model is live in every house hold
