Advocacy to End Hunger and Poverty - Empowering people and influencing policy makers

SOUTH ASIA ( Module 1: New Delhi, India | 8 - 13 May 2017; Module 2: Bangalore, India | 31 Jul - 3 Aug 2017)

This course consists of two modules/workshops. It equips participants with essential advocacy concepts and tools that will enable them  to develop capacities in planning and implementing effective advocacy initiatives under special consideration of the Agenda 2030 (Sustainable Development Goals). The course is hands-on, assesses country specifics and fosters options for advocacy initiatives that are related to food and nutrition security, the right to food and SDG processes. The aim is to identify pathways for an integrated realization of SDG 2: End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture.

This course will significantly improve participants’ capacity to plan, implement and review projects and programs that contribute to ending hunger and poverty. A critical reflection on civil society will help you to define your role more clearly.

Further, the course provides participants with essential concepts and practical tools related to food and nutrition security, and brings them into a rights-based perspective.
